We loved the concept of staying in a Romany-type caravan for two nights. The location suited us as naturalists so well with places like Arne Heath and Brownsea Island so close. We did other trips to Thomas Hardy’s house; Corfe Castle and to the Great Bustard project on Salisbury Plain. We packed a lot in but we were there close to Longest Day so we had lots of time to use. We are in our 70’s but encountered no problems here - and the staff were so friendly and helpful too.

Arrived on a very rainy day and were able to dry off in front of a log burner with a relaxing glass of wine. Staff were all very friendly. Room was perfect to house us and our dog - very clean. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious. We will be back to stay again.

Fanatic hotel and spa great getaway

It was a really good deal, both my husband and I had a massage in the afternoon and used the facilities in the spa area, the pool outside the hotel was a bit too overlooked by people in the bar for my liking but the pool in the spa was lovely. I can honestly say that the food in the restaurant was the best I've eaten in a long time (and we've been to some very prestigious places) and the room was modern, clean, spacious and comfortable.

This stay was a Christmas gift for us from our daughter and the actual stay was perfect , what a beautiful place and the flowers and gardens were fabulous as was the food , room , service and bar . However the actual booking if this gift was not good at all ! I rang about February time to book a date in July only to be told I couldn’t book for another 3 months as it was too early ! When I did ring on the given date I was told the date I wanted was full ! Then tried to book the following night but same thing , full up ! I couldn’t understand this and rang Red Letter Days for advice only to be told it was nothing to do with them just deal with the hotel ! A very disappointing scenario , However our stay was just what we hoped only spoilt by the unnecessary rules and red tape and lack of interest from yourselves .

Lovely site, good facilities and friendly host, would definitely recommend.
