Head to the sophisticated New York Bar for a wonderful night overflowing with good food and delicious royal cocktails! Boasting striking red decor and contemporary furnishings, the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming – perfect for friends or partners wanting a sophisticated evening out. While soaking up the atmosphere, indulge in a delicious seasonal sharing platter before trying two original cocktails each, listening to the sweet sounds of jazz music played daily from talented resident musicians. During last year's London Cocktail Week, the New York Bar team produced a range of exclusive royal cocktails that became so popular they earned a permanent place on the signature menu, each created based on the Queen's most-loved tipples.

The dress code for The Rubens is smart casual and we respectfully ask guests to refrain from wearing sportswear, flip-flops and non-tailored shorts – guests not adhering to the dress code policy will not be permitted entry into the restaurants and bars.

Fabulous champagne afternoon tea
Amazing experience from entering the stunning hotel. The staff seated us in the sumptuous afternoon tea room where piano music softly filled the air. The waiter poured our Lanson brüt champagne, talked us through the menu and explained the variety of teas to complement our food. We chose the afternoon tea blend to drink with our sandwich selection and then the rose blend to drink with our desserts. The sandwich selection was a delicious variety of egg mayonnaise with truffle, salt beef with mustard, coronation chicken, barber cheese and tomato (my personal favourite), and smoked salmon with cream cheese. They were all sandwiched in a variety of delicious breads. Plain and fruit scones were served with clotted cream and we tried them with both the strawberry jam and lemon curd which is something we hadn’t tried before. Again it was delicious. We couldn’t have managed the whole selection of desserts which were miniature works of art so we cut them in half and shared them. There was a chocolate brownie, lemon and blueberry tart, strawberry mousse, and vanilla and pistachio sponge. All were light but full of delicious flavours and marvellously created. We had the leftovers boxed to take home. The waiter also surprised my daughter with a celebratory slice of stunning coffee flavoured birthday cake which made our day even more special. Reuben’s is definitely a place to choose for a special occasion and I would highly recommend it.

Great experience, fantastic gift
Really enjoyed our experience at The New York bar: learned the history of cocktails and saw Matt's mastery, which was a great show on its own, drank 3 wonderful cocktails, ate some delicious snacks. Matt covered the basics of cocktail preparation, also shared quite a few tips and tricks.

Considerate staff, didnt rush us at all and gave us plenty of time to eat. Excellent pastries and sandwiches
Only thing that would have made it better is if it was clear whether refills were included and if we were able to choose where to sit.

Amazing experience
The hotel is beautiful and located a short walk from Victoria Station. The afternoon tea was amazing and the staff were brilliant, they made sure you had everything you needed and explained all of the food. I would definitely go again and recommend to anyone for a special occasion.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea all the staff made us welcome and as we were both celebration our 60th birthdays they came out with a special cake with happy birthday writen on it .it was a lovely surprise all the cakes tasted wonderful could have had more sandwiches if we wanted but didnt have any room would definitely recommend this afternoontea.
