About the experience

Home to classics like Spitfires, a Boeing B-17, the prototype Concorde and a Lockheed Blackbird, IWM Duxford is Britain's largest living and working aviation museum – the perfect setting for flying a light aircraft. Begin on the ground with a briefing of flying techniques and safety, before climbing aboard a dual-controlled, two-seater training plane with a fully qualified instructor. It's then 'chocks away' for a one-hour flight, during which, at the discretion of the pilot, there will be a chance to take the controls and experience the joy of flying first-hand. Once safely back on the ground, enjoy free entry into the museum itself.

In a Nutshell

  • Enjoy an hour up in the air in a Cessna plane over Cambridgeshire
  • Expert instruction from a qualified pilot
  • Take the controls and pilot the plane during the flight
  • Free entry to the IWM Duxford
  • Half price entry to the museum for spectators
