Keeper for a Day at Dartmoor Zoo for Two

Experience life at the zoo with this keeper for the day experience for two people at Dartmoor Zoo. You’ll have the unique opportunity to work alongside the expert team of keepers, learning first hand what it takes to keep a range of animals happy and healthy. You will get the chance to get involved with the peccaries, meerkats and gelada monkeys. Along the way, you’ll learn all about the different animals’ diets, nutrition, husbandry, training and enrichment for a real behind the scenes look. Once your experience is complete, be sure to explore the rest of the zoo, with a slice of cake and hot drink included.

  Available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8am, year round, excluding Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. It is recommended that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Dates are available up to six months in advance. All dates are subject to availability.

  Minimum age: 16 years. Please note, this experience is hands-on with a bit of hard work required. This experience is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has a high blood pressure or is of a nervous disposition or is a wheelchair user.

  The enclosure grounds may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather. Sturdy and supportive footwear is recommended, as well as clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
