50 Mile Helicopter Tour of Undiscovered Wales

Discover the hidden Wales known by so few from a Jet Ranger Bell 206 or Robinson R44 helicopter, taking in panoramic views that are simply unforgettable. From mid Wales airport, head over the sandstone Powys Castle towards the beautiful Lake Vrynwy and over the village of Meifod, said to be the resting place of many Powys royals. Look down at the stone dam over the lake, the first of its kind in the world, and try and spot the 31 rivers and waterfalls which all run into the lake. Continue into the wooded hills towards Pistyll Rhaeadre waterfall, the highest in England and Wales, before returning over the serene Berwyn mountains and down the Severn Valley to Welshpool.   Flights take place one weekend date per month from March - October.

• Participant Guidelines

  Min age five, max weight 17 stone and anyone unders 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Disabled passengers are welcome, with carers. All passengers must purchase a seat on the flight.

• Weather

  This is a weather dependent activity, mainly due to wind speeds and cloud base above the ground. It is crucial to call the venue before setting out to check conditions. If the flight is cancelled, it can be re-booked directly with the venue.

• Duration Detail

  Expect to be at the venue for about one hour, including a safety briefing and a flight time of 30 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of the booked time to ensure a prompt start.

  Share the helicopter with up to three other sightseeing enthusiasts.

• Dress Code

  Please bear in mind that inside the helicopter can get quite warm. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
