Bird of Prey Falconry Experience for One at The Hawking Centre in Kent

This three hour falconry experience is ideal for any true bird of prey enthusiast. Kick off with a coffee, before heading across the estate with a skilled falconer to get acquainted with a range of birds. Begin by flying a small owl through a wooded area, followed by a wood owl or eagle owl through the estate's meadow. Next, advance to larger birds of prey, flying Maggie the vulture across the lawns, a resident hawk through open parkland and woodland and finally, the imperial Chilean eagle through hedged gardens. This is a fantastic way to get hands-on with a large selection of majestic birds of prey and be privy to a rare glimpse into their world.

• Availability Description

  Seven days a week throughout the year (with the exception of national holidays). Dates fill up quickly, so book several weeks in advance and allow even longer for popular summer weekend dates.

• Participant Guidelines

  Minimum age is 8. Reasonable fitness is required for this experience as the day involves a fair amount of walking, often over uneven ground and is therefore unsuited for disabled people.

• Duration Detail

  The experience will last for approximately three hours.

• Numbers On The Day

  Share the experience with up to three others and an experienced bird of prey handler.

• Dress Code

  Dress for the outdoors with wellies or walking boots. Bring a change of clothes if the weather is very bad and don't forget a camera or a pair of binoculars.
