Upon arrival, prospective pilots will undergo a comprehensive safety briefing in preparation for the flight ahead, before boarding the dual-controlled glider alongside an expert instructor. Once towed by a light aircraft to heights of approximately 2,000 feet, the rope will then be detached, enabling the glider to soar through the skies freely and tackle the thermal currents. • Availability Description

  This voucher is valid for one person. Available on selected Mondays, year round. All dates are subject to availability.

• Participant Guidelines

  Minimum age: 11 years. Maximum weight: 16 stone. Minimum height: 4'11". Maximum height: 6'4". This experience is not suitable for people with epilepsy, fainting or any health condition that could endanger the flight. Disabled access is available for those able to follow instructions and climb in and out of the glider unaided.

• Weather

  Gliding is weather dependent and conditions can affect flight duration and time, therefore it is essential to call the venue for a weather check – for morning bookings call the day before, for afternoon or evening bookings call on the day before setting out.

• Duration Detail

  Flight length depends on prevailing thermal conditions – as a guide, the flight should last between 12–20 minutes, but expect to spend a few hours on site. Please arrive a few minutes in advance and make your way straight to the clubhouse.

• Dress Code

  Please wear flat-soled shoes and bring a jumper in case it gets cold. Bring gloves in winter. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.

• Other Info

  All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences. Although the flight is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor, the briefing may be shared. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to bring a camera or pair of binoculars. Please note, in an active airfield, aircraft always retain right of way – please stay in notified areas unless accompanied by a member of staff and steer clear of craft and equipment at all times.
