Tandem Hang Gliding in Devon

Fly Like a Bird over the stunning scenery of the North Devon coastline. After a full briefing and an informative talk about the sport, your instructor introduces the glider (a Wills Wing Falcon 3 Tandem), specifically designed for tandem flight. Once secured in the harness together, take a traditional hill launch to go skyward and reach up to height's between 600 and 1200 feet above the ground, where you keep the company of birds and are free to soar and circle lazily in the thermal currents above land and sea below, with incredible views in peaceful surroundings. Enjoy the thrill of landing followed by a full debrief. Two weeks on, receive a 5'' x 7'' photo, a DVD of the flight and interactive GPS track log of your flying time, overlaid on Google Earth.

• Availability Description

  Seven days a week during the season from 1 March - 31 October, including all bank holidays.

• Participant Guidelines

  Minimum age seven and reasonable fitness (with an ability to run) is necessary. Must be at least 3' 3'', but no taller than 6' 3'' tall. Minimum weight 3 stone 13 lbs, maximum 14 stone 7 lbs. Medical conditions must be declared.

• Weather

  Flights are extremely weather dependent and can be cancelled at short notice. Call between 9am - 10am on the morning of your flight to confirm it is due to go ahead.

• Duration Detail

  The actual flight lasts around 25 minutes but expect the whole experience to last at least 90 minutes. You may spend anywhere between two and six hours at the site.

• Numbers On The Day

  Up to seven other participants can fly with the school on the day.

• Dress Code

  Dress warmly in base and outer layers (including waterproofs if necessary), with sturdy shoes or ankle boots. All equipment (flying suit, harness, helmet, gloves and balaclava) are provided.
